Community Stargazing and Open House

Stop by any time between 7:30PM - 9:00PM
Participants of all ages are welcome!
Outside in the O’Connor Parking Lot by Maynard Road, use telescopes to observe the Full Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Albireo (double star), Mizar (star), and Epsilon Lyrae (multiple star system) while McAuliffe Center staff are available to answer your questions about telescopes and our Universe.
Inside the McAuliffe Center, watch a planetarium film and get a tour of the Challenger Learning Center! During Big Astronomy: People, Places, Discoveries, visit three of the many world-class observatories at extreme and remote places along Chile’s mountains. Explore telescopes and meet the diverse people -- with different backgrounds, talents, and skills -- who help uncover mysteries about the Universe!
THIS EVENT IS PART OF FRAMINGHAM STATE UNIVERSITY’S BLACK AND GOLD BEGINNINGS!
Important Information:
This event is weather-dependent. In case of inclement weather or conditions inconducive for observing, this event will be cancelled.
Parking is available in the Adams Road, Maynard Road, and Salem End Road Parking Lots. Once parked, follow the signs to the McAuliffe Center.
The McAuliffe Center is located at the rear of O’Connor Hall on the campus of Framingham State University. The entrance to the O’Connor Hall Parking Lot is on Maynard Road.
Masks are required for all.
