Community Stargazing
Friday, February 24
Stop by any time between 6:00PM - 7:30PM
IN FRONT OF MAY HALL, Framingham State University
LOCATION and weather conditions:
Instead of O’Connor Lot, meet us in front of May Hall! See the pictures below and this map for directions. No cars are permitted near May Hall. Please follow the parking information at the bottom of this page.
If you are joining us tonight, please bundle up! The cold temperatures are actually ideal for stargazing, but there will be a wind chill and snow on the ground. Please dress as if you are hitting the slopes!
Participants of all ages are welcome!
Use telescopes to observe a first quarter Moon, Jupiter, Venus, Mars, the Pleiades star cluster, and Orion Nebula!
McAuliffe Center staff are available to answer your questions about telescopes and our Universe.
Important Information:
This event is weather-dependent. In case of inclement weather or conditions inconducive for observing, this event will be cancelled. Please dress warmly!
Parking is available in the Maynard Road, Salem End Road, and Maple Street Parking Lots. Once parked, follow Framingham State University’s signs and the McAuliffe Center’s yard signs to May Hall.
Stargazing will take place in front of May Hall. There is a staircase at the intersection of State Street and Maynard Road that will take you to the stargazing location. Directions and Map
